Vija  Tirzmalis (Traube)

CEDAR PARK, Texas, formerly of Marshalltown, died May 9, 2007.  Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Vija was born in 1941 in Vainode, Latvia, to Alfred and Konstance.  Vija moved to Monroe, Iowa, when she was 9 years old and attended high school in Marshalltown, Iowa.  She graduated from the University of Iowa and married John Traube shortly thereafter.  Vija worked as a teacher and later as a homemaker.

Vija will be greatly missed by her husband of 40 years, John Traube; her sons Eric and Scott; her brother Al (Janice); niece Kelly; nephew Doug; and daughter-in-law Esme.  Vija leaves behind numerous dear friends who meant a great deal to her.
