Calvin "Cal" Specht, 59, of 3202 South 12th Street, Marshalltown, Iowa died Saturday, June 28, 2003 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center, Marshalltown, Iowa.  Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at Albion Cemetery, Albion, Iowa.

   Military graveside honors will be performed by the V.F. W., Harry C. Harter Post No. 839.  A visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Memorials may be directed to the Calvin D. Specht Memorial Fund. 

   Calvin Duane was born on July 24, 1943 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Charles Benjamin & Ida Lucille (Stevens) Specht.  He grew up in the Des Moines and Marshalltown areas and graduated from the Marshalltown High School with the Class of 1961.  Following graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He married Carla White, July 1968 in Marshalltown, they later divorced.  Cal works as a refrigeration repairman; starting with his father then moving to General Electric.  For several years, he owned and operated Cal's Refrigeration.  He was last employed by Sear's Service based out of State Center, Iowa retiring due to health in 1993.  His hobbies included fishing spending time on his computer and Christmas shopping at Menards.

   Cal is survived by two daughters:  Danielle Clark-Gilkey, Palm Harbor, Florida and Brandy Specht, Holiday, Florida; a son: Tyson Specht, Clearwater, Florida; a granddaughter: Chelsea Clark; his parents: Charles & Ida Specht, Marshalltown, Iowa; a sister: Sandra Fiems, Eldora, Iowa; two aunts; one uncle and many cousins.

   He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
