Gary Petersen

   Ottumwa  --  Gary Petersen, 61 of 613 E. Williams, died Feb. 16, 2004, at home.

   He was born Dec. 10, 1942 in Marshalltown to Ralph and Kathryn Gummert Petersen.  He married Roberta J. Harsch, April 11, 1964.  She preceded him in death April 26, 1999.

   A graduate of Marshalltown High School and Marshalltown Junior College, he attended Northeast Missouri State University.  A resident of Ottumwa since 1964, he was a master plumber, having worked for Harsch Plumbing & Heating and Winger Mechanical, retiring in 1997.  He was a member of Local #33 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union.

   Surviving is daughter, Kristine Petersen of Ottumwa; son, Jeff Petersen of Des Moines; and brother Alan Petersen of Marshalltown.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.

   Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

   Visitation will begin 2 p.m. today with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

   Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the family.
