LUFKIN, Texas - Charles William "Chuck" Karns Jr. of Lufkin, Texas, formerly of Marshalltown, died Saturday, Dec 4 in Lufkin.  

Graveside services were scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice in the Pines, Lufkin, Texas.  The Gipson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 24, 1943, in Des Moines, the son of Charles and Janice Karns.  He was a graduate of Marshalltown High School and Marshalltown Community College.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Marshalltown.  He married Norma Lacina and they had a son, Jason.  He later married Patricia Palmer.  He was most recently employed by Cooper Power Systems of Nacogdoches, Texas. 

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Karns of Cushing; a son, Jason Karns of Plano; his parents, Charles and Janice Karns of Lufkin, Texas; and a sister, Mrs. David Duncan of Baytown.
