Obituary for James M. Nelson
 
   James M. Nelson, 70, of Waterloo, IA, passed
 
away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Covenant
 
Medical Center in Waterloo. Graveside
 
services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday,
 
January 16, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery in
 
Marshalltown, IA. Memorials may be directed
 
to the Country View Care Center, 1410 W.
 
Dunkerton Road, Waterloo, IA 50703. Online

   James graduated from Marshalltown High
 
School and finished his education at
 
Marshalltown Community College. He was
 
on a farm, tending to livestock and milking
 
cows. James especially enjoyed current
 
events, newspapers and Iowa Hawkeyes
 
basketball. He was a phenomenal card player
 
and had a real sweet tooth. He was a strong
 
Christian and a long-time member of the
 
Trinity Luthern Church.

   James will be missed by his sisters Joyce
 
Birks and Janice Weber of Waterloo, IA, seven
 
nieces and many great nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and
 
brother-in-law, Lyle Birks.
