  Marsha Jane Holm, passed from this life on  July 31, 2019 with her family by her side. 

    Marsha, 75 years of age was born to Richard R. Holm and Ardis Darland Holm, in Marshalltown, IA, on September 27, 1943. She is to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at a later date once a fund has been established. For condolences please visit

    She attended Marshalltown schools, graduating from MHS with the class of 1961. She later graduated from the LPN program through Marshalltown Community College and the Paramedic program through Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA. 

    Marsha was employed, nearly her entire working life, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center in various, departments and capacities, including Radiology, OR, Ambulance, and ER. 

    She enjoyed reading, crafting, music, Netflix, herb gardening, and most of all, her family. One of her proudest accomplishments was in building her own cedar deck, which she enjoyed for 20 plus years. 

    Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Bette Anne Holm Ward, a brother-in-law C. David Partin, nephews Jeffrey L. Ward and Greg Ward and grandson Marcus Oliver Gethmann. 

    She is survived by her children, Whitney Gethmann Hunt of Marshalltown, Marc Douglas Gethmann (Lai) of Gladbrook, and Darcy Lynn (Alan) of Roswell. GA. Her surviving grandchildren are Andrea Stocker and Michael Stocker of Roswell, GA and Ryan D. Hunt of Marshalltown. Also surviving is her brother Richard M. Holm (Marta) of Lincoln, CA and her sister Jennifer Holm Partin of Surprise, AZ. In addition she leaves behind her nieces Jill C Partin of Vista, CA and Stacia Partin Stout (Jesse) of Mountain House, CA and nephew Richard R. Holm of Richmond, CA and her great niece and nephew Carter and Lilah Stout. 

    Because she promised Ryan she would, and because he has brought such joy to her life, “See you later dump truck!”
