Audrey L. Dooley, 72, of Springdale, AR passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, AR.

 

Audrey was born February 1, 1943 in Marshalltown, Iowa, a daughter of Ray Pennington and Verna M. (Sears) Pennington. She married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry in January of 1963. They moved to Arkansas in June of 1990. Audrey was a member of the Westside Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and volunteering at the Springdale Senior Center, where she worked the front desk. She enjoyed playing bingo (even though she never won) and traveling with her senior center family. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and getting her nails done with her best friend Pat Hendrix.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Jerry Dooley; and two brothers, Danny Pennington and David Pennington.

Audrey is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Nichols and Lori Walker and husband Eddie; five grandchildren, Audrianna Palmer and husband Benjamin, Megan Seals and husband Jimmy, Olivia Dooley, Mitchell Brewer and fiancé Shelby Potts, and Alexandra Killeen; one great granddaughter, Emily Seals all of Springdale, AR; one brother, Charles Pennington and wife Dottie of Marshalltown, Iowa; and one sister, Glennys Steward of Branson, Missouri.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4:00pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00am Pastor Paul Payne will officiate the service with the committal service to follow at the Goad Springs Cemetery in Lowell, AR. I watched the loving tribute to Audrey and she had a life well lived. I always thought Audrey had the most beautiful smile. I am so sorry about her passing away and her family will be in my prayers.  Meredith Elledge

 To all of the Dooley and Pennington family, I'm so sorry for your loss.   I watched the video tribute of Audrey and so enjoyed seeing her life unfold.  She always was so pleasant to be around in school and her smile was something I always remembered.  Blessings, prayers and deepest sympathy to all of you....
