Pat (Pinney) Cornwell

   Patricia Cornwell, 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home in Gladbrook, IA. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Anderson Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Anderson Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown, has been entrusted with arrangements.    Patti was born November 23, 1942 to Albert and Kate (Spaid) Pinney, in Marshalltown. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1961. Patti was united in marriage to LeRoy Cornwell on June 20, 1964, in Marshalltown. She was employed with various factories in the Marshalltown area for 40 years. Patti was a member of Gladbrook Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved to shop and looked forward to getting her hair done every week. Patti was known to have a clean house at all times. The pride and joy of her life were her two children and grandchildren.

   Patti will be missed by her husband, LeRoy, two sons; Patrick (Debra) Cornwell of rural Gladbrook, IA, Stuart (Michael Marks) Cornwell of Charleston, SC, five grandchildren; Joseph, Chloe, Jacob, Skylar, and Jesse Cornwell, two sisters; Phyllis (Gayl) Wiegand of Inkom, ID, Donna Curry of Bemidji, MN, and a brother, Donnie Pinney of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Ronnie Pinney. The family would like to thank the staff of Westbrook Acres, Hospice Compassus, and her four in home caregivers; LaDonna, Carol, Vickie and Kelly, for the outstanding care that was provided to Patti.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.

Deepest sympathey for Patty Penny Cornwell.  So glad I was with her for our 50th class reunion and got to spend time with her..  She was one of my best friends during school years..I will miss her.

My sincere sympathy to Pat's family.  I used to see her at Wal-Mart or Hy-Vee every once in awhile and we always had a good chat.  I am glad she made it to the 50th class reunion. Will be thinking about you all. Rest in peace, Pat.

One of the biggest disadvantages of living faraway is that you don't get to see our classmates often so don't get to know them and keep up with their iives.  I'm sorry that I didn't have the opportunity to get to know Pat. From all the comments it sounds like she was a sweet and loving person and will be missed! 

My thoughts  to all those who were blessed to have Pat in their lives.
